James and I were happy to hear that the boys were playing quite nicely together (laughing and having fun instead of being sick). Suddenly we heard painful screaming coming from Jude who was wedged in the space shown here between the couch and side table. Apparently he asked Ari to pull him up on couch and Ari tried to do so, managing to mildly sprain Jude's wrist in the process!
I must say it was a surprise to me to learn that a 2 year old can have sprains! I always thought they had such fluid joints. But Jude spent the evening crying in pain every time his arm was touched and screaming "Arm! Arm! Arm!" Sure enough the bruise from the sprain showed up soon thereafter. We dutifully applied the advice from "Where There is no Doctor" (courtesy of James Mom!) of RICE - rest, ice, compression and elevation.
A pair of nylons served nicely in place of the tensor bandage we do not have. I would have thought that to be an essential of the first aid kit we have, but apparently it is not!He seems to be doing better this morning, but both the boys are very tired. I guess it takes a while to bounce back!

The benefit to using nylons as tensor bandages: you can hide the fact that you forgot to shave your arms! (That was an attempt at a Reese joke for you, Jess.)
I thought it was funny...
you would! :)
Reese, you are hilarious.
